MariAlice Gayler, R.D.H. I was drawn to the field of dentistry because I enjoy helping people. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1993. Upon graduation, I worked in Arizona for three years before moving to Oklahoma in 1996. I began working with Dr. Benjamin F. Edwards and his dental team in 1996 and have been at the Ada Smile Place ever since. I am a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Oklahoma Dental Hygienists’ Association. Since dental health plays a part in a person’s overall health, the Ada Smile Place team and I volunteer each year for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Everyone has been affected in some way by cancer. We feel that participating in this worthwhile event is one way we can give back to the community. Every day I have the privilege of learning, growing and making our patient’s smiles and their health better. As a dental hygienist, I not only provide oral care but I am also a part of a healthcare team that delivers quality dental care and extraordinary smiles. Our dental team plays a huge role in helping patients improve not just the quality of their smile with our state-of-the-art equipment, but also the quality of their lives. I love my work and look forward to providing the community of Ada with excellent service for years to come. In my spare time, I help on my family’s ranch, east of Ada. I like any outside activity and enjoy spending time with my dogs.
