I started working for Dr. Edwards and the Ada Smile Place in 1994. I had never worked in a general dentistry practice before and saw it as a great opportunity to learn even more about the career I had chosen. Also Dr. Edwards does Orthodontics and Invisalign and it has allowed me to utilize my prior orthodontic experience. One thing I really appreciate about our office is the benefit of attending continuing education. At the Ada Smile Place we are always learning and growing in our skills. Over the years, I have received numerous certificates in radiography, coronal polishing, sealant application, and the use of nitrous oxide. I have also been able to hear speakers that have equipped me with the ability to help patients not only with their oral health but their overall well being.

One of my favorite things to do is to “pamper my patients”. Since I work with the patients that are having major restorative or cosmetic procedures done, they usually have very long appointments. I try to make their visit more pleasant and relaxing by offering paraffin hand treatments, a back massage unit in the dental chair, flavored lip balms, warm guest towels, and their favorite music on an I-pod or DVD’s shown on the television in the ceiling above their heads. When treatment is finished I give them a milkshake. Our patients leave Ada Smile Place convinced that they have been to a spa, not a dental office. I truly enjoy my work and caring for patients. To see them get the best results possible in not only their oral health but their total overall health is my ultimate goal.
