Treatment Rooms
As compared to the one computer in the old office when the planning began, the new office has 14 computers. There is at least one in practically every room, except the reception area and restrooms. Also, in each operatory are TV's mounted in the corner and another one flat with the ceiling. Patients can view their dental charts, see a broken tooth, learn from dental education videos or "The Smile Channel 14", or watch cable TV or a movie. Most children this summer have been bringing their own DVD or video to watch during their appointment, but we also have a variety for them to choose from in the library.

Sterilizing Area
The office contains the newest Triangle Unit By Patterson Dental. It was the first one installed in the State of Oklahoma. It consists of a "Red" area for dirty instruments and a "Blue" area for clean. The doors, drawers, and faucets are foot-activated and are hands-free in order to prevent touching with dirty hands.

Consultation Room
The consultation room is at the center of the office and is Dr. Edwards' favorite. "I never liked talking to patients about treatment in the dental chair. I always seemed to be towering over them and it was threatening. It is much better talking face-to-face in a quiet "non-dental" room where the patient and I can discuss possible options and they can choose the treatment that best coincides with their own dental goals" states Dr. Edwards. "It is a win-win situation when the patient has the opportunity to look at the pros and cons and make decisions regarding their own dental health and keeping their teeth for a lifetime!"

The Kid's Corner
To make the trip to the dentist more exciting, the children's area at ADA SMILE PLACE is equipped with a free-standing NBA Jam and brightly colored hands-on gear and marbles activity centers attached to the walls for the younger patients. In addition, the walls of the children's area are decorated with framed paintings, drawings, and poems.
